Vectra® Networks, the leader in automated threat management, today announced that its X-series platform was recognized by SC Magazine UK, as the highly commended solution in the Best Behavior Analytics/Enterprise Threat Detection category for the 2016 SC Magazine Awards Europe.

The SC Magazine Awards Europe are well known as one of the most prestigious awards for information technology (IT) security professionals and products. The awards recognize the best solutions, services and professionals that work around the clock to defend against the constantly shifting threat landscape in today’s marketplace.

“Cash and IP are being stolen every day with values over the year running into hundreds of millions of pounds, while many millions of individuals’ credentials continue to be illegally obtained,” said Tony Morbin, editor-in-chief of SC Magazine UK. “We have come to accept that the attacker is most likely already in our network, and if not, the chances are that they soon will be. But this situation would be far worse were it not for the information security industry and products such as the X-series by Vectra Networks.”

Each year, hundreds of products are put forward for consideration. Each product is judged by a panel representing a cross-section of SC Magazine UK readership, which is comprised of large, medium and small enterprises from all major vertical markets including financial services, healthcare, government, retail, education and other sectors. Entrants are narrowed down to a select group of finalists before undergoing a rigorous final judging process to determine the winner in each category.

“Vectra enables security teams to make faster, better-informed decisions about where to focus their time and deploy countermeasures to quickly neutralize active threats and prevent or mitigate loss,” said Mike Banic, vice president of marketing for Vectra Networks. “We are honored to receive this recognition from the SC Magazine UK judging panel of respected senior security industry professionals. It is our goal that the solution we deliver helps them to detect active network intrusions in real-time and shut them down before damage can be done.”

The Vectra X-series platform is automated threat management software delivering real-time detection and analysis of active network breaches. Vectra uses a patent-pending combination of data science, machine learning and behavioral analysis to detect malicious behavior inside networks. Its technology picks up where perimeter security leaves off by providing deep, continuous analysis of both internal and Internet-bound network traffic to automatically detect all phases of a breach as attackers attempt to spy, spread, and steal within a network.
