Hackers exploit Turkish university servers to mine cryptocurrencies

Cybersecurity firm Vectra highlighted in its report that a large amount of mining traffic comes from IP addresses linked to universities. Vectra’s findings highlight the trend of educational institutions becoming primary targets for hackers. At the beginning of the year, UW System Schools also found that its servers were being used to mine bitcoin.
